"Actually-Playable Update" - v0.0.4


Hey heartbreakers!
Got an important update for you today.

I'm sure many of you noticed how unstable saving / loading was - This is due to an update in VNM itself, which apparently bricked lots of people's projects when they couldn't solve the issue. Degica being Degica, there still isn't a fix.

So instead, I decided to program my own faux save system.
In the latest build of Heartbreaker, you can no longer manual save, but you do have flags being set constantly behind the scenes to stop you losing progress.

Now, when you click Load, you'll be shown a menu with three options:
    1: Using Restart clears all your data and returns to the start of the episode.
    2: Using Continue returns to the start of the last scene you entered.
    3: Using Quicksave loads the last Quicksave flag you triggered.
IF I can find a way to re-introduce manual saves, I will, but don't hold your breath.

Some notes about Quicksaving, however:
    1: It's still unstable, so use at your own risk, but please report any issues.
    2: Quicksaves are meant to clear when you close the game / leave a scene.
    3: I've tried to set it up to minimize save-scumming, but do tell me if you find exploits for easy money / FP / items, and I'll try to patch it out.

The Murder update is my next priority; It's functionally done, just needs new graphics & voices, but the last 3-4 days were spent on the new save system.

I call v.0.0.4 the "Actually-Playable Update".
I apologize for the rocky start in Heartbreaker's development, and I hope you enjoy having a more stable save / load system.
